The 2000s Decade is Behind Us

This past decade (2000-2009) was full of events. We have experienced destruction, wars, and uncertainty in many different areas. This millennium was one that launched the world into one of the worst financial times since the Great Depression. Home forclosures, bankruptcies, and bail-outs have become a common place occurance in many locations.

Not all has been ugly though. We have also seen victory take place in ways that will forever change the lives of those involved. American's have learned to do more with less. People have started saving now in ways that haven't been seen since the 1930s. People, families in particular are learning to bond again because of the financial pressures seen in many homes.

The way people communicate has improved faster this decade than any time before as we are introduced to texting, smart-phones, social networks, and better technology for email. Technology as a whole has made huge advancements.

I'm not sure how your personal life faired the start of this millennium. Hopefully your personal time-line is full of success and great memories. I know that I have experienced many life changing events that forever changed my life for the better. Both of my girl's were born this decade. I committed my life to serving in ministry. I built my first home (for sale). I won't say that my life has been without struggles, but I can say the this decade has given blessings to me that outshine the negatives.

As 2009 passes away most people are greeting 2010 with open arms. As the clocks across the Nation struck midnight ending a tough decade people cheered with the hope of a new beginning in a new era of the 21st Century. Americans, as well as the rest of the globe are looking positively towards what the next 10 years will bring.
My prayer is that God will allow us once again to experience prosperity, happiness, and to use what we have learned from the mistakes we have made. We have a long way to go in terms of recovery, but we can become smarter and stronger if we will only look towards God and lean on His wisdom.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
