Have you ever felt like a "nobody"? Sure you have, we all have. There are times in which we go through life feeling as if we are not able to accomplish anything.
There is a major problem with that mindset. First of all, it's very negative, and shines a bad light on you. I'm sure you have heard the term, "If you believe it, you can achieve it". Well, that can also be applied to your negative thoughts. If you don't think you are anything or anyone important, you are lessening the impact you can have on the people around you.
I'm not telling you to believe you are greater than anyone else for any reason. Luke 7:28 I tell you, among those born of women no one is greater than John, but the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he." No man is ever greater than another. We should never try to compare ourselves to what someone else is doing in order to build status. Never let anyone tell you that they are better than you because of a skill or talent. Never allow a person's education or job title dictate greatness. Never allow money to be a governing factor of one person over another. There is nothing wrong with having a Ph.d, a large bank account, and a great job title, but that alone does not say that that person is better than you.
I want you to understand something that has likely been over looked. Jesus uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Look at the Disciples; they are average everyday people. Matthew was a tax collector that was hated. Peter was a fisherman that came home from work every day smelling like sweat and fish. I could go on, but there are examples like this throughout the Bible. King David was a shepherd before he was a king. Moses was a Jewish infant destined for death, tossed in the river in a basket, and then raised as an Egyptian. Later in life Moses was a murderer that took refuge in another Country. He found work as a shepherd. God used this man to lead millions out of Egypt, and has lead the world since then through his words.
The next time you feel worthless, take into account that God created you. He knows everything you are going through. God understands your pain, your shame, and your every mistake. God knew what you were going to become before you were born, and God believes you are great.
Allow me to say this again, "God uses extraordinary people to do extraordinary things".
